Cut Me Up

Cut Me Up is a participatory magazine of visual call and response founded by Andrea Burgay. Each issue presents a curated selection of original collage images that will become raw material for reader-artists to respond by cutting, reconfiguring, and transforming them into new artworks, in response to curatorial calls addressing contemporary issues. The newly created responses form the content of the next issue.

Each issue features:

  • 18 original full color artworks by contemporary artists

  • Statements by each artist on their work and process

  • The call for the following issue by a guest curator

Cut Me Up: Transitions
Artworks Transformed

Cut Me Up: Transitions brings together works from each of the published issues of Cut Me Up that demonstrate how artists have responded to each other’s work and each curatorial prompt. These responses create both short-form and extended dialogues, or conversations between multiple works.
